TV Newscast Code Blue: on Indiana State University:
We are excited to share this great TV newscast from Patsy Kelly, WTHITV10 Terre Haute, IN on Indiana State University. The story, which was produced by the TV station and the University, showcases the Code Blue security solutions on their campus. Bill Mercier, Police Chief of ISU, mentioned “It’s one of those situations of when you need one (the CB unit) you really need it, it’s like asking me why do I need a smoke detector system… again because when you really need one you need it!” Anchor Patsy Kelly finishes the segment stating how Code Blue towers are used for more than emergencies; students also use them for escorts to their cars or other buildings at night. This is great press and hits the key points of why and how to use our security solutions. This is a great example to use in the field when in front of prospects. Enjoy, please leverage and use this positive press. As always we appreciate the partnership. To view the video please visit: http://codeblue.com/campus-towers-make-big-differences/

Coaches Corner:
ASIS was an epic event for Code Blue! Our team really pulled together and we were able to deliver a lot. In under three months leading up to ASIS we were able to release a brand new web site, we produced two incredible videos, we published two new pieces of literature and most of all we were able to come together as one with our valued rep partners and unveil all of this at ASIS. Our team burned the midnight oil to get everything ready to go and we exceeded our deadlines. It was a great feeling seeing everyone roll up their sleeves and dive in to help make it all possible. We have a lot more to do and more to deliver on but getting done what we wanted to by ASIS was a great accomplishment and I am thankful and proud of the team we have here at Code Blue.
In the fourth quarter look for us to release more sales and marketing brochures that speak specifically to our core four (Help Points, Emergency Signaling, Incident Response and Systems Management) updates to the web site will continue, our monthly newsletter will be published and the exciting Channel Avenue tool will be released. “Luck is nothing more than hard work meeting up with opportunity.”
What’s happening in Product Development:
Product Development & Engineering has been busy tuning up the First Responder Suite of Incident Response tools. There are some exciting new things on the cusp of release that will be a game changer for the security market. In addition to EMS (Event Management System) and Blue Alert Mass Notification, we have integrated a multi modal approach to incident response. Whether it’s through SMS text messages, Emails, Digital Signage, or Social Media Outlets; Blue Alert MNS will get the message to the intended audience. Even more exciting is the mobile phone app that will be the first to market in our industry; giving “help at the touch of a button” new meaning. With all of these existing and new features combined under one Suite, First Responder, we can proudly say We Are Security.
Rep Firm Feature: IDMC
Code Blue had the pleasure of awarding IDMC, a family owned Rep Firm based in Northern Texas, with both Top % to Plan and Top Revenue for 2012. We asked President, Keith Kough what it took for them to earn both awards: “Patience. Patience and determination is what it takes. You have to be able to outlast your opponent. We offer the best product on the market. We had a 13 year project and specification matching and sheer determination to not lose persevered.” The relationship between IDMC and Code Blue began 20 years ago when they sought after a reliable product matched with excellent customer service. They have seen great changes in the industry in this time and have seen the importance of training their staff hand’s on. Keith says, “Anytime we can get our hands on the product and see how to make it work or function better it is best.” It is that vested interest and determination that has made IDMC Code Blue’s top Rep Firm for 2012!
What’s Happening in Marketing:
As you may have noticed, www.codeblue.com has gotten an overhaul. While it is still a work in progress, you will hopefully find the changes more intuitive and user friendly. The website also features two new videos. Go to http://codeblue.com/our-company/videos/ to see The Code Blue Story, illustrating why Code Blue is so much more than just another intercom company. The second video, Product Demonstration, is a great way to access our van demo, anytime, anywhere and learn the differences a security company brings to emergency communication.
We are excited to release our new marketing materials. Recently released at ASIS 2012, A Guide to Emergency Communications outlines Code Blue’s help points, emergency signaling, incident response and systems management solutions. Tech Talk
Technical Services and Support has recently received a lot of questions regarding the IP5000 speakerphone. Here are some things to try if you’re having problems with IP5000:
1. Check the power to your device.
a. PoE is rated for 802.11af PoE specifications
b. Power is 12-24 vAC or DC
2. Do a ping test to determine connectivity and the packet loss and latency time to and from your destination and the quality of your network connection to your IP5000.
a. If you receive no response and power is confirmed contact your network administrator.
3. The IP5000 is setup for DHCP by default.
4. If you can’t find the IP5000 IP-address or bring up the GUI try using another WEB browser like Firefox or Google chrome. If you still can’t get to the GUI you can telnet into the phone.
5. Ensure your SIP or IAX2 account is set up correctly.
a. Ensure account username and password matches exactly the account credentials on your VoIP system.
6. Ensure your codec settings on your VoIP system match the IP5000 codec settings.
7. Firewalls commonly block or partially block VoIP calls.
Factory Reset Options:
1. The system reset button will perform the following actions:
a. Press for 5 seconds and it will delete the config files; scripts and recordings will remain.
b. Press for 10 seconds or more and the IP5000 file system will be formatted resetting to factory defaults.
2. Using Windows Telnet
Note: Code Blue recommends using Windows Telnet as other telnet programs may add/
exclude characters which may cause unexpected results.

b. o Enter Username: admin and Password: admin
c. o At the prompt, type .advanced
d. o At the prompt, type format c: codeblue
e. o After successfully formatting the phone, type reboot.
